Week 10

I spent the weekend adding the beginning scenes to "The Monkey's Paw". Before this, I still plan to have text that shows the title of the animation before the house scene. I didn't get around to it yet as I was still wondering how I was going to include text and transitions into my animation. Below is what I've done so far with both parts combined.

I had received a lot of incredibly useful feed back during class. Some of the reoccurring suggestions that I've received were:

  • Windmill too shaky at the beginning
  • Man moving past the window also gets pretty shaky
  • Phone that hangs on the wall looks too much like a chainsaw. Removing the white part between the cord will fix it.
  • Sleeping scene goes on for way too long
Overall though, I've received a lot of positive feedback on the way the animation looks stylistically. The black and white color choice was effective and texturing some elements along with the lighting. Moving forward, I do plan to redo a lot of the animation though, as I want to go back and change the style of a lot of the objects. Adding the dot pattern that's on the couch in the second scene was very effective (I was told) and should be applied in many more areas such as the house, trees, etc.
